Ulaştırmada Altyapı Yatırımlarının Liman Hinterlandına Etkileri: Amanos Tünelleri Üzerine Nitel Bir Çalışma

Abstract

Ulaştırma, ülkelerin uluslararası pazarlarda rekabet edebilmesi için genel ticaret sistemini tamamlayan en önemli faaliyetlerden birisidir. Etkin bir ulaştırma ile işletmeler rekabetçi fiyatlarla pazarlarda yer alabildiği gibi pazara erişim süresinde de avantajlar yakalamaktadır. Ulaştırma faaliyetlerinin yürütülmesi pek çok çabanın birlikte yürütülmesini gerektirir. Özellikle ulaştırma faaliyetlerinin gerçekleştiği coğrafyadaki zorluklar ulaştırma hizmetinin süre ve maliyetlerini doğrudan olumsuz etkileyebilmektedir. Ulaştırma coğrafyası kapsamında değerlendirilen bu konularda temel amaç ekonomik faaliyetlerin en iyi şekilde gerçekleştirilmesini sağlamaktır. Ancak bazı durumlarda coğrafi zorluklar, ancak kamunun finanse edeceği yatırımları gerektirmektedir. Bu çalışmada Hatay ilinde inşa edilmesi planlanan Amanos Tünelleri”nin bölge ticaretine ve limancılığına etkilerini ortaya koymaktır. Yapılan araştırma, tünellerin kısaltacağı mesafe ve sürenin ticarete sağlayacağı doğrudan katkıyı ölçmektedir. Çalışma sonuçlarında projenin hem ticaret hem de limancılık açısından etkileri belirtilmektedir.

Transportation is one of the most important activities that complement the general trade system so that countries can compete in international markets. With an efficient transportation, businesses can take place in the markets at competitive prices, as well as gain advantages in access to the market. Carrying out transportation activities requires the execution of many efforts together. Particularly, the difficulties in the geography where transportation activities take place can directly affect the duration and costs of transportation services. The main purpose of these issues, which are considered within the scope of transportation geography, is to ensure that economic activities are carried out in the best way. However, in some cases geographical difficulties require investments that will only be financed by the public.In this study, the effects of the Amanos Tunnels, which are planned to be built in the province of Hatay, on the regional trade and port management. The research measures the direct contribution of the distance and time that the tunnels will shorten to the trade. The results of the study indicate the effects of the project in terms of both trade and port operations.
