First record of Epigonus denticulatus Dieuzeide, 1950, (Osteichthyes: Epigonidae), from Mersin Bay, Turkey

Two specimens of Epigonus denticulatus Dieuzeide, 1950, belonging to the family Epigonidae, were captured during bottom trawling at depths between 446 and 522 m off Mersin coast of Turkey on 17 May 2014. The presence of E. denticulatus in the Aegean Sea was recorded in 1987. This report is the first capture report from Turkish marine waters and first confirmation record of the fish in the North-Eastern Mediterranean.
