Turizm Eğitimi Alan Ortaöğretim Öğrencilerinin Turizm ve Etkilerine Yönelik Algıları: Hatay Örneği

Abstract

Turizm faaliyetleri her geçen gün ilerleme ve gelişme göstermektedir. Türkiye’nin en güneyindeki Hatay ili de turizm alanında devamlı büyüme gösteren şehirlerden birisidir. Bu ilerleme ve gelişmeler bazı etkileri beraberinde getirmektedir. Bu etkiler; sosyokültürel, ekonomik ve çevresel etkilerdir. Araştırmada turizm eğitimi alan öğrencilerin turizmin etkilerini ve turizme yönelik algılarının ne düzeyde olduğunun belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda yapılacak araştırmada evren olarak Hatay ili, örneklem olarak Hatay’ın Antakya ilçesinde Nimet Fahri Öksüz Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi, Arsuz ilçesinde Uluçınar Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesinde turizm eğitimi alan 757 öğrenci seçilmiştir. Toplamda 623 öğrenciye anket uygulanmış tutarlı olan 529 anket analiz uygulanmıştır. Veriler IBM SPSS Statistics 25 programı ile analiz edilmiştir. Analiz bulgularında öğrencilere göre Hatay’ın turizm yönünden en önemli özelliğinin Hatay’ın tarihsel ve kültürel bir şehir olmasıdır. Turizmin çevresel ve ekonomik etkilerinin olumlu etkilediğini, sosyal ve kültürel etki olarak gelenek, görenek ve değerlerin olumlu etkilendiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Erkek öğrencilerin turizm algısı kız öğrencilerin turizm algısından daha yüksektir. Yiyecek-içecek hizmetleri okuyan öğrencilerin turizm algı düzeyleri, konaklama ve seyahat hizmetleri okuyan öğrencilerin turizm algı düzeylerinden fazladır. Ayrıca staj yapan öğrencilerin turizm algı düzeyleri staj yapmayan öğrencilerin turizm algı düzeylerinden daha yüksektir.

Tourism activities are progressing and developing every day. Hatay province, the southernmost province of Turkey, is one of the cities that has seen continuous growth and development in the field of tourism. These advances and developments bring some effects. These effects are socio-cultural, economic and environmental factors. In the study, it was aimed to determine the effects of tourism and the level of perceptions of students receiving tourism education. For this purpose, 757 students who studied tourism at Nimet Honorary Orphan Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Antakya district of Hatay, Ulucinar Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Arsuz district were selected as the universe in Hatay province, as a sample in the research to be carried out. A total of 623 students were surveyed. 529 questionnaires that are consistent have been analysed. The data were analysed using the IBM SPSS Statistics 25 program. According to the analysis findings, the most important feature of Hatay in terms of tourism is that Hatay is a historical and cultural city. It has been concluded that the environmental and economic effects of tourism have a positive impact, and traditions, customs and values as a social and cultural effect have been positively affected. The perception of tourism of male students is higher than the perception of tourism of female students. The level of tourism perception of students studying food and beverage services is higher than the level of tourism perception of students studying accommodation and travel services. In addition, the tourism perception levels of the students who completed the internship program are higher than the tourism perception levels of the students who did not complete the internship programs.
